Natural remedies for pcos - Part I

Hello Ladies!!

Today we are going to deal with a common health issue which affects women in reproductive age. Yes i'm speaking about PCOS ( Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome ). Even i have come across so many women suffering by PCOS and the saddest part is this syndrome ultimately affects pregnancy. But sometimes symptoms and severity levels varies from women to women.

We all know without women we are not here and it hurts me a lot that a huge number of women all over the world suffers by this syndrome. So definitely it's time to place a big full stop for this issue. If you rise a question "Whether PCOS women able to give birth to a healthy child or not? " the answer is big yes but they need to change few things in this their routine life seriously.

We are not going to see about what is PCOS, what are all its symptoms and so on. Because so many girls are suffering by this syndrome so we are going to see about natural remedies of  PCOS.

Even there occurs so many good medicines available for PCOS but we need to change our lifestyle to get better result.

Now you may have a question "What is the first step to fight against this syndrome ?"

First Step :

The very first step is please throw away your laziness. Because we earn nothing because of being lazy except diseases so refresh your mind and order your body to be active for the whole day. Just keep in mind you can have your baby in hand as soon as you come out of PCOS.

Start your day with brisk walk. May you feel bored or lazy to continue walking when days go on but don’t quit walking. It's really difficult if you thinks you're walking as burn, just enjoy doing it.

How to enjoy walking :

For example if you are about to walk in a park which is 2 km away from your home. Just try to find new routes daily to the park, may be at the end of the month you might have found at least four different routes so that you won't get bored.

Try to notice even small loveble things in the roadside while walking….. tall buildings, fresh flowers, traffic less roads and so on.

This kind of small things may make your walking more lovely.

Second Step :

Try to do your household activities by yourself because we may sometime don't find time to do exercise at home. Even household activities are also considered as exercises. It starts with cooking, washing etc. Reducing 5% of your body weight may helps to regularise your periods.

Start doing these two baby steps to get rid of PCOS, i will come up with food changes in the following article.

How to prepare carrot / Beetroot Halwa at Home

Carrot and Beetroot Halwa

You know carrot halwa is one of my special recipes. Milk, nuts, sugar and carrot flavour really gives a rich taste to the recipe. Even we can make this halwa without milk but today i'm going to explain you all with milk. Carrot halwa doesn't take much time to prepare but we need to spend some time in particular stage while preparing this recipe.

Let's begin.

Ingredients :

Grated Carrot       - 2 cups
Boiled Milk         - 1 cup
Condensed milk      - 1/2 cup
Sugar               - 1/2 cup
Ghee                - 5 tsp
Cashew nuts
Dried Grapes

Step : 1
Thoroughly wash and peel carrots and grate it well. Just 2 tightly packed cups of grated carrots are enough for us.

Step : 2
Place cooker in medium flame ( I usually prepare carrot halwa in the cooker ). Now add 4 tsp of ghee ( you can also use refined oil instead of ghee ) and grated carrots.

Step : 3
This part is very important to get a good taste to this recipe. Saute the grated carrot in ghee for almost 15 mins in slow to medium flame. Grated carrots may start to shrink in heat.

Step : 4
Once carrot shrunk well add condensed milk and keep on stirring. Later add normal boiled milk and allow it to bubble for few secs. Now stir it well and close the pressure cooker with lid.

Step : 5
Allow it to cook for 10 to 15 mins, make sure you must have added enough milk to cook or else it may become dry with insufficient milk.

Step : 6
Once you cooked grated carrot with milk, open the lid ( Switch off the stove to cool down pressure cooker. Because it is dangerous to open cooker which is in flame ).

Step : 7
Once you open the cooker stir the content well and switch on the stove. Now the consistency is very important, cooked carrot shouldn't have too much of milk with it. If the milk doesn't get reduced allow it to cook for few mins ( without covering the cooker ).

Step : 8
Now add sugar along with carrot & milk mixture. Saute it well. As like you sauteed carrot in ghee, take time and saute sugar with carrot and milk mixture.

Step : 9
Halwa is almost ready. You can fry cashew nuts and dried grapes in ghee and add to the mixture as a final step.

Wow!! There you go... Halwa is ready.

Beetroot Halwa :

Yummy carrot halwa has been prepared. Now you may have a question "How to prepare beetroot Halwa?". It's again simple and delicious dish. You can make beetroot halwa with the same procedure. The only difference is beetroot may be bit watery when compared to carrot. So it may take much time to reduce milk content (Before adding sugar ). Some people grind beetroot instead of grating it. But i usually prefers grating beetroots. Try these two simple and tasty recipes in your home!!

I come across many people with low and high blood pressure and they faces some issues. If i concerned, i would say Whether it is  low blood pressure or some highly serious disease, we need to be mentally strong to move on. Because medicines cannot cure diseases untill we are mentally strong enough. First of all we need to think that "we will be recovered back soon", then it's  easier for medicines to cure it.

So be strong to defeat things! Low blood pressure is not at all a problem. If you have some symptoms of low Bp like dizziness, lightheadedness then definitely you need to check with your doctor for appropriate treatment. .

We define it as low blood pressure when If bp is less than  90 mm Hg systolic or 60 mm Hg diastolic. This might be caused by various medical conditions. Healthy lifestyle can helps to control our Bp.

Lets see some healthy food which helps to raise Bp,

Beetroot Juice :
Beetroot juice well deals with low blood pressure. We can take once or twice in a day.

Salt :
Salt helps to increase the blood pressure but too much of salt intake may also cause problem. Add small quantity of salt in a glass of water and drink it.

Water :
Water! Water! Water!  Taking more water prevents dehydration and helps to increase blood volume.

Tulsi / Basil leaves :
Crush 15 tulsi leaves and extract the juice. Add one teaspoon of honey along with it and have it in the morning. Tulsi leaves not only deals with low Bp, it also helps to reduce stress.

You can take pomegranate as a fruit, juice or in some other forms. It helps to maintain your blood pressure.

We all know "red rice" is good for health but still we are not taking it regularly because we are used to white rice and its delicious taste. I agree, it is bit hard for us to completely switch over to other type of rice from white rice that quickly. But we can move on gradually.

You can make a schedule for a week, which comprises of red rice, brown rice and white rice. If it hard for you to take red rice for lunch, you can have it as breakfast or dinner. Wash red rice, urad dal, Fenugreek seeds and soak it in water for 5 hours ( since we have added less quantity of urad dal, we can soak all ingredients together ).

Step:2
Grind soaked ingredients well with enough water .

Step: 3
Mix salt as per need and allow it for fermentation ( At least 7 hours )

Step : 4
Mix the fermented batter well ( You can add some water to make the batter thin) . Thin batter helps us to make crispy dosa.
